Irsa Shafiq is an experienced development professional and researcher with over a decade of expertise in managing and leading research-driven projects focused on democracy, youth engagement, religious studies, and education reform in Pakistan. She has served in a number of NGOs as Research Officer and Project Manager. Irsa holds an M.Phil in International Relations and is the author of the book Political Leadership, Military Intervention and Democratization in Turkey and Pakistan, published by the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) in 2018. She has served as lead researcher on several national-level studies and co-authored publications such as Role of Youth in Strengthening Democracy and Democratic Values in Pakistan (2021) and Democracy and Pakistani Youth (2023). Her research portfolio includes in-depth work on Pakistan’s public school textbook curricula, religious media narratives, and the causes, trends, and containment strategies of radicalization in Pakistani society. As a lead researcher and project manager, Irsa is actively involved in conceptualizing and designing programs on youth engagement, interfaith dialogue, madrasa enhancement, and religious engagement.
