Mujtaba Rathore is an accomplished sociologist, researcher, and trainer with over 18 years of experience in leading high-impact projects and policy interventions in peacebuilding, governance, education, human rights, and countering violent extremism (CVE). He currently heads the Islamic Research Institute of Social Sciences (IRISS), a leading think tank based in Islamabad. Mujtaba has designed and led a range of multi-sectoral programs supported by international organizations, with a focus on engaging religious scholars, youth, civil society, and state institutions in promoting social cohesion and inclusive governance.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Peacebuilding and Reconciliation from the University of Winchester (UK), a Master's in Political Science, and a Law degree (BA LLB - Shariah & Law) from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. As a published author of three books and numerous research studies and reports, he brings strong analytical acumen and thought leadership to his work. Mujtaba has conducted field research and training in multiple countries, including the UK, Singapore, China, Indonesia, and Thailand, and is widely respected for his grounded understanding of religious, legal, and social dynamics in Pakistan and the broader region. As a consultant and master trainer, Mujtaba has worked with UN agencies, NGOs, and media institutions to design and deliver context-sensitive programs on peace education, interfaith dialogue, Islamic jurisprudence, gender rights, and conflict transformation. His unique ability to bridge religious and secular perspectives has made him a sought-after expert in CVE, religious engagement, and rights-based programming.
